theory and what to do..

so today ill talk about how to make this server big..
this server atm is suffering from low players not like before: i logged in 2mins ago and saw only 3players online..

this problem is happening because of many ppl quitting and less ppl joining.. this means that we need to increase the players joining in here in v1 to get mod donations- better server- more ppl in v2

the players who are joining every day are around 0-1-2.. because of 2 problems:

-not many ppl online: when a newb join he will see that there are lil amount of players so he will be discouraged to play.. solving this problem will be difficult .. i would recommend a eco reset but atm if it happens more ppl will quit and this will own the server even more.. we have too many mods atm for a small server.. having 2-3 is best option atm.. point 3 is when a new player join and sees everyone rushing with claws and everyone has claws to pk with he wont be able to play well.. i my self have 20 claws.. and 60 bandos sets.. with such amount of items new player wont be able to pk.. so either adding new option such as: new players get the ability to get 2x pkp for the first 100kills.. or adding something like a shop for players with 50kills and less (on ip) that has a cheap items..

-the staff abusing and owner being busy with v2: some staff are abusing badly.. (without names) for example a mod got reported 6 times on forums and 3 times on his hidden account for breakin rules.. mods abusing can affect server's growth in a big way.. too many ppl quitting because of the mod.. point 2: the owners are mainly doing v2 and not really doing anything for v1.. v1 should be used as money support + player support to v2 and the owners must have considered this but not working on v1 at all..



all im asking is considering v1 a good server and should add some fixes and consider workin on it..

First of all thank you Rambo End for writing this up, this issue has been bothering us for a while now. Me and Lestic have been talking days about this and over the future of the server.

First of all the main reason for the player drop is due that the schools have started, less people join then usual and some people cant stay up till 6am anymore like they used to. We already notice on the first monday we dropped to about 20-25 online in the peak hour instead of the normal 30+.

The main reason we started to work on V2 is due to its stability client wise and the bug-free content server wise. Ofcourse everything can be fixed on V1, but the problem is that coding in the client is a lot harder then coding into the server. The client contains just codes and codes about packet sending, handling and offsets. If one of those has a error which is not seen as a error by the compiler but rather as a bug then its extremely hard to find this one single line of code that screws so hard with our client. I have some knowledge with the client but this would be far away from I can do and probably 99% of the other RsPs coders out here.

I am very sure that we lost a huge amount of players due to the client issue's, people that lose stuff because their client random freezes or dc's (Probably caused due a random lenght packet being send due to a bug). Ive also helped atleast 10 or more people that couldnt login anymore, the client couldnt even load the cache out of nowhere. Those 10 people had the chance to tell me and were dedicated to the server. Imagine how many people did not and just decided to leave the server because they couldnt load their client up or had a error message while trying to login.

We are thinking about a eco reset, but then again everyone who donated, everyone who put so much hours into his account, we cant do that. If it was me playing this server and I spend weeks playing and there was a eco reset I dont think I would stay either.

Now about the abusing staff part, every staff on this server has been accepted wisefull without a rush. If any of our staff members breaks a rule we have a section to report this. If found guilty depending on what he did it can lead to a demote of the staff rank. I have yet to see valid proof against one of my current staff members.

Its expected that staff gets reports against them, sometimes a staff member makes a decision that one of the parties doesnt agree with and then you get a fight.

Conclusion to that, make a report (Public/Private) with valid proof and there will be dealt with.

Next, your totally right of our lack of updating on V1. Yet again the main reason is what I listed above about our client. Also remember our school/work started to. I cant be online till 2-3am anymore, because the next day I gotta get up on 7am.

I will try to work more on V1 also with the upcoming Nex armour update, it has all the correct stats but I just need to make it so the hp boost works with it.

alright great points, do u have any ideas to get more people? server is dropping alot lately and we need a fast solution..
